A recent post ended with something along the lines of not spending money again for few
months but that didn’t even last a week. I’m just going to admit it - I am a shopaholic. I feel a tad bit
hopeless…maybe; I should start adding up to see how much I spend before I over
do it. For now I’ll just enlighten you with my shopping spree.
After spending days at uni from 9am – 5pm, I finally had a half day and so I decided I was going to go Oxford Street, whether it was on my own or with someone else. I just knew I had to go. I had no reason to go but I just love London, I think it’s beautiful but anyway I didn’t end up on my own, I met up with an old time friend and we both wrecked our bank accounts…slightly.
1. Marvel Top – Primark (£6.00)
I got this
in a couple of sizes bigger than my actual size because I wanted to wear it as
an oversized top rather than a normal top. I like oversized tops, jumpers,
shirts, you name it – I’ll probably have it. Unless it’s jeans, trousers,
leggings…don’t buy that in oversized; that is not cool. I don’t normally by my
clothes from Primark unless they’re basics or random jewellery but I found
myself debating between the Marvel top and Olaf (frozen) top as they were both
really cute and as you can see I did end up getting the Marvel one.
2. Biker Skirt – H&M (£14.99)
I have been
eyeing this skirt for so long. I didn’t know if I wanted this or not so I kept
it saved in my favourites for over 2 months and then eventually realised that
if I didn’t buy this, I was going to regret it. The H&M near Selfridges had
6 FLOORS! I couldn’t find this skirt after walking round for half an hour then
gave up at that H&M. I went to the one closer to Marble Arch/Bond Street –
which only had 2/3 floors and found it pretty easily…after climbing on an unstable
stool trying to find the right size (short girl problems).
3. Lip Products
So I think
I’m facing the ‘buy every make-up product’ phase, my last blog post was a
really bad make up haul. I saw reviews for all of these and I wanted to try
them. So you’re probably wondering why there’s two pictures with one that looks
a bit strange. When I went and washed my hand I noticed that some didn’t come
off as easily so I thought I’d let you know what actually lasts.
A. Automatic Precision Lip Liner - KIKO(£5.90)
I got this in
the shade 507, it’s a Scarlet Red colour that I wanted to try out, there are 15
other colours that I may or may not want to buy. It was on discount for £3.90
and I thought why not, I did go in to buy a lip liner but I forgot what colour
it was I wanted so I had to stand and stare for a long time. I need to revisit
and buy the translucent lip liner - I’m kicking myself for not buying it when I
went there. This product has a blending applicator on the reverse side, which I
thought was pretty cool they were also not lying when they said it was
water-resistant.
B/C. Rimmel Provocalips - Boots (£6.99)
I got this
in two shades 550 Playing With Fire (B) and 730 Make Your Move (C), These two
products left me amazed, well all of them did, all the colours were so vibrant
and intense and I just sat there thinking ‘wow’. As you can see they are
completely waterproof and colour probably last for a really long time without
having to reapply them. On the reverse side it come with a clear ‘lock and
shine’ gloss which I did not add on top but you could get away with having
either a matte or gloss finish.
D. Revlon Moisture Stain - Boots
(£7.99)
I would
have bought 3 Rimmel Provocalips but I wanted to try something else. This is in
the shade 045 New York Scene. It’s a very similar colour to the lip liner but
just slightly more red. I don’t know how weird this may sound but I don’t like
the taste/smell of the products. It smells like something I used when I was an
art student but I cant pinpoint which type of paint it was, on the other hand
my sister thinks it smells like a really toned down version of Mac Studio FixFluid Spf 15 Foundation.
E/F. NYX Butter Gloss – NEXT (£5.00)
I got the shades BLG05 Crème
Brulee (E) and BLG07 Tiramisu (F), I prefer the Tiramisu shade compared to the
other purely because it looked much more natural on me. I know many who loves
these ‘butter gloss’ products however I have tried it a couple of times and I
don’t think it lasts that long. You’d essentially have to keep reapplying this
throughout the day which is not something I’d want to do. I haven’t yet tried
to mix it with a lipstick or anything so I might see what happens then it might
work better like that.
4. Really Cute Gloves – Primark (£4.00)
That is not
the name of the gloves; they had no name so I just wrote the first thing that
came to me. Do you find that every winter you buy a new pair of gloves? I
definitely do. This is my excuse for buying the – My hands get cold and gloves
were the solution. I particularly like the design on them and the colours
aren’t ‘out there’, I can also text or read on my phone pretty easily without
having to worry about taking the entire glove off because they have the ‘cover’
thing for your fingers. I have no idea what the name for that is either.
5. Galaxy Minstrels – Primark (£0.80)
This is not
make-up nor is it clothes, it was there and I picked it up. As it was part of
the whole shopping spree I thought it deserved a number and place on this page.
I love food. I love chocolate. I hate exercising. I bet you can see my future
pretty clearly now. I ate this for breakfast…with milk. Chocolate’s good for
you.
6. Earring Set – Primark (£2.00)
As I said
before I do buy jewellery from Primark, I had no need to buy this entire set,
as I only actually needed the first pair for work. So I’ve actually cut off the
bottom row and the bows off to give to my friend who accompanied me because she
liked the other half so I was told her she could have it as I actually have
lots of earrings already.
7. Ring Set – Primark (£2.50)
Amelia Liana recently made a blog post about this £140 ring, which looked really
really pretty, but I don’t buy rings for £140. Coincidentally, I saw this ring
pack when I was browsing and the first row caught my eye. I don’t like the last
row, well the silver one is nice, but the other 3 are probably going to remain
untouched. The shapes were cute and I don’t have rings like that and as it
reminded me of her £140 ring, I bought this. That was my logic and reasoning.
