I will probably make a million posts on food and this
just happens to be the first. Today is my little sister's birthday so Happy
Birthday to her and I hope I manage to get her everything she likes.
For her birthday we went to Little Korea; something
me and my sisters all have in common is our shared interest in Korea. This was
our first Korean meal at an actual Korean restaurant, so we were all super
excited...and hungry.
I apologise for the pictures, I seem to have randomly
cut of the edges for them - I cracked my phone, the phone screen looks
disgusting and thanks to my phone I can't take great pictures because I can't
see what I'm doing very clearly.
The dishes we ordered were Jjangmyeon, Ebi
Tempura and Samgyupsal and we shared this between three people.
By the time we got to the Jajangmyeon we were almost full but it tasted too
good to stop.
I've have had Jajangmyeon before but I don't think it
counts because it was from a Chinese Restaurant near where I live and it taste
a lot different to what I had today. It's not a spicy dish and I'm not entirely
sure how I would describe the flavour but I liked it however it's not something
I'd eat all the time...I'd really like to try Cold Noodles.
Ebi Tempura was side dish that my
sister ordered. It's basically fried shrimp and we normally order this every
time we go to an Asian Restaurant, so it was something familiar in the
midst of food we had only seen through our phone/laptop screens. Also, I like my seafood so I wanted something there.
It was my first time trying Samgyupsal...it was as amazing as Korean people make them out to be. To eat the meat or lettuce on it's own is quite bland but when
you take the lettuce, add sesame oil and red pepper paste with the meat and
make a wrap, it tastes extraordinary and the flavours compliment each
other really well. The taste makes my mouth water whilst thinking
about it. I should stop writing now...it's midnight and this is making me hungry. Anyway,
I would recommend this dish because it was my favourite out the three
dishes I had today.
Thank you for reading.
